Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: systemsettings-kde4

On a fresh install of Kubuntu 8.10, after performing all software
updates, it's impossible to change the user password through the "system
settings" in the "About me" section, that is kcm_useraccount module.

If I click on "Modifiy password", a dialog box ask me the actual
password and after clicking "OK", an other dialog box asks the new
password. I've tried to type a new password, the label says that they're
matching, but if I click ok, I've got an error that says that my
password has not been modified with the message "No password supplied".

I've reproduced the bug on three machines.

Versions:
Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3)

** Affects: kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
