I was inspired by something mentioned in Bug 234879. The inspiration made me change /etc/hosts by adding the domain name. See the diff. in the 2 attached files. >From the timestamp on /etc/hosts I related the problem to when I added a >PCI-card for wireless router connection.
Afterwards I tested the upgrade manager with success.
