Here's the output of lspci -vvnn run as root.  Some more things I have
noticed:

(a) I do not always lose my session.  Sometimes I get the gnome-screensaver 
password prompt
(b) I also lose my session sometimes when I switch to a text vt.  AFAIK, vt 
switching also happens during suspend/resume by pm-suspend.

I don't know much about graphics and framebuffers and text modes, but it
seems that this bug is being triggered by switching between virtual
terminals, in particular from "graphics mode" to "text mode".  Does that
help?
