** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: debian-installer

Using a 40GB hard drive with more than two partitions existing,
attempting to install from the alternate cd dated 01-15-2009. Partition
drive steps, I selected "Guided - use entire drive". The partition
editor created the partitions as a 38.9GB partition for '/' and a 1.1GB
partition for 'swap'. I continued with the formatting. The following
  error message then appears:

  PARTITION DRIVE
The attempt to mount a file system with type swap in SCSI1 (0,0,0), partition
#5 (sda) at none failed.
You may resume partitioning from the partitioning menu.
Do you want to resume partitioning?

All attempts to continue at this point meet the same failure message. To
continue the installation requires choosing "Abort this installation"
and restarting. After getting to the partition menu, choosing the same
"Guided - use entire drive" allows the installation to continue. Any
attempts to reproduce this with less than three partitions fail.

Expected results: I expect the partition editor to continue without
  errors or restarting the installation.

  Release: Xubuntu Jaunty 9.04 2009-01-15
+
+ WORKAROUND:
+
+ After the error message, Abort the installation, restart the system, and
+ at the partition menu, chose the same item. Installation will continue
+ without the error.
