** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

Various attempts to get an xorg.conf that will handle > 800x600
resolution all fail. Hardware: nVidia GeForce 6150 LE; Samsung 171V LCD
monitor. Up to 1280x1024 works in Hardy. Configuring xorg.conf either
manually with modelines or using automated tools makes no different.
System->Prefs->Screen Resolution shows refresh rate of 0 Hz as the only
  one available.

  xorg.conf (autogenerated by nvidia-xconfig) and Xorg.0.log attached.

  lsb_release -rd gives 8.10

xorg (is that the right pkg to report?) is 1:7.4~1ubuntu1
