** Description changed: I have an up-to-date intrepid installation (dist-upgrade from hardy). The problem is, that all video players flicker when I use xv as video-output. Though this happen only when I boot the default kernel! When I choose "rescue" from grub, video playback works fine with xv. Currently I use the latest nVidia module (NVIDIA- Linux-x86_64-177.76-pkg2.run), cause I hoped it solves the problem. I attached some infos about my system. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu intrepid (development branch) Release: 8.10 + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge: nVidia Corporation C55 Host Bridge (rev a2) + Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.
