Public bug reported:

Since upgrading to the 2.6.19 kernel (which is using libata now iiuc) i
have been having hard disk lockups. That is, i/o to/from the disk just
does not happen. No more HD led and anything trying to access local
disk hangs. Even a sysrq-s does not cause the buffer cache to flush.

I'm not sure where to go with this one. I guess reverting to the old
IDE subsystem on the 2.6.19-7 kernel and seeing if the problem persists
is an avenue of information. Is it possible to pre-empt the loading of
the libata drivers with the old IDE subsystem?

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.19 (Ubuntu)
