** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-all

I have an iBook G3, model 600MHz combo, Late 2001 and I got excited to
see that Ubuntu Hardy has fixed the boot issues on this machine.

Unfortunately, there are problems with X. The monitor native resolution
is 1024x768, but Xorg thinks that it is only working with a 800x600
monitor and I see a corrupted display when I boot with the Live CD,
  unfortunately. :-(

I used to use Debian on this machine and I was able to use X with no
problems regarding the resolution (since the early XFree86 4.0.x era).

The machine uses the r128 driver and /var/log/Xorg.log shows some errors
  that shouldn't be there...

This behaviour is seen both before and after I modprobed the apm-emu
  module.

I am attaching some logs so that you can see the problem and help me
  please.

(This is, BTW, the following release:

  ubu...@ubuntu:~$ lsb_release -rd
  Description: Ubuntu 8.04
  Release: 8.04
  ubu...@ubuntu:~$
  )

Thank you very much for any help here.
