** Description changed: Regardless of what windows manager I use (xfce4 or gnome), ever minute or so, the desktop will exhibit a number of errors simultaneously: extreme slowness and unresponsiveness, text will disappear or change colors, buttons and other widgets will disappear until moused over, screen will flicker, and other weird things will happen with window appearance. This will happen throughout the desktop--it is not confined to a specific browser, etc. - I'm running a stock sharp actius al27, which has integrated via video (I - forget which exactly). I'm running the i386 version of the Hardy Heron - 8.04 beta--all upgrades installed. Special windows effects are turned - off (in gnome). I had not changed any default setting (other than - manually setting xorg.conf for 1024x768 screen resolution to avoid the - over-large login window bug). + I'm running a stock sharp actius al27, which has integrated via video (I forget which exactly).
