Initially I had the same issue. After playing with Thorsten's script I
think I'm one step further.
One remark to the script, I changed the logging to grab the whole output of
synce-sync-engine:
synce-sync-engine > synce-sync-engine.log 2>&1 &
However I do get the same error in /var/log/messages, which seems to be
not the problem. After looking at the log file (synce-sync-engine.log) I
noticed following error:
File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/SyncEngine/formats/conversions.py", line
390, in event_recurrence_to_airsync
raise ValueError("Yearly events which are by month must either specify
BYMONTHDAY or BYDAY rules")
Don't know if this is causing the problems. After syncing no calendar
entries neither from the device nor evolution are synchronized.
