Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

Hi, when I need to make some root task, I'm used to run the xnest windowed
style using the command:
"gdmflexiserver --xnest" and then log-in as the root user.
The bug I found out is: all the times I launch the shell "gdmflexiserver
--xnest" and then I login in there as the "root" superuser, if I start "Gimp
2.6" inside that shall, and I try to maximize the Gimp interface, the program
crashes and the main windows close itself without any expected reason.
The problem persist every time I redo that process in the same order:
1) launch: "gdmflexiserver --xnest" and login as root
2) launch Gimp 2.6
3) maximize the main Gimp interface
4) the Xnest shell Crashes!

My System Config:
OS: Ubuntu 8.10
CPU: Intel Core 2 duo - E 4500 @ 2.20 Ghz
Kernel: 2.6.27-11-generic
Gnome: 2.24.1
RAM: 3,0 GB
HHD: 500 GB (250 free)

bye
Alessandro Isaia
