Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: emacs22

When entering the Lisp customization group for the first time, I get an
error message. Several of the customizable settings also have their
state shown as "UNINITIALIZED, you should not see this."

The error message is "widget-apply: Symbol's function definition is
void: nil". It does not recur if you quit customize and then revisit
the Lisp customization group.

I'm guessing the inferior Lisp settings are defined in such a way that
they can only be customized after you have actually loaded the inferior
Lisp support. If this is so, then that's a bug.

To repro, start a new Emacs instance and type M-x customize-group <RET>
lisp <RET> (also happens if you just select Options > Customize Emacs >
Top-Level Customization Group and navigate through Programming (go to
group), Languages (go to group), Lisp (go to group)).
