Public bug reported: OpenSebJ - vScaleNotes - Is an Open Source GPL program which mixes high quality audio samples of individual notes. As each note has been sampled and split separately there is no synthesis of the notes being played the overall result is of significantly higher quality, reflective of the actual instrument being played. As the samples are of high fiedelity and there can be a large number of samples per instrument, sample packs per instrument can be understandably large.
vScaleNotes is written in .Net 2.0 and compiles successfully under Mono 2.0 on Ubuntu. The current version utilises the SDL libraries for all audio playback. The Subversion source code repository is located at: https://vscalenotes.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/vscalenotes A compiled executable is stored in the Subversion repository (under the bin/x86/Release directory) which can be run under mono using the command line: mono OpenSebJ-vPianoKeys.exe A full piano sample pack is available for download at: http://www.evolvingsoftware.com/download/Piano.7z The source forge project page is located at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/vscalenotes/ Please let me know if any more information is required to package this program.
