I have just checked the ubuntu 9.04 alpha 3. I breaks also with the black screen at the same point as before...
It is interesting that the elive distribution (debian based) works fine... The dmesg from elive is attached. Difference is that elive reports: [ 11.059865] ath_hal: module license 'Proprietary' taints kernel. [ 11.061927] AR5210, AR5211, AR5212, AR5416, RF5111, RF5112, RF2413, RF5413, R F2133, RF2425, RF2417) This seems to be more that what ubunto does...
