UPDATE/INFORMATION:

This issue is somehow related to the Bookmarks tools. When typing text
in the address bar, it is searching for matches to my bookmarks; it's
*not* searching for text I've previously entered as a web address, as I
have that feature turned off (so the Preference setting is obeying the
un-selected check-box parameter.)

I deleted several folders installed by Firefox 3.0.5 from the Bookmarks
menu, and reduced the annoying drop-down box trying to match text from
that menu. However, this reduction in annoyance will be short lived,
since I'm about to import all of my bookmarks from another computer to
this one, and I'm sure the same issue will exist.

[Performed import; confirmed]
Firefox 3.0.5 is searching for Bookmarks from the address bar when text is
entered, with Preference setting for address bar searching turned off.

So, a feature needs to be added to Firefox 3.0.5 Preferences to have the
option to turn off 'search for bookmarks from address bar', or to modify
the 'search for text when I start typing' to include Bookmark searching
behavior from the address bar (on/off.)

Any tech/coder reading this should forward this information to whom it
may concern; thank you.

Using Ubuntu-Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 5, there seems to be no way I can clean out
the address bar autocomplete. If you respond, hope you will start me from
Ubuntu or Firefox taskbar, eg click on Edit-Preferences, etc.
