Hi Sebastien, I think this is actually a bug in the applet. The applet starts in the "Panel" phase, so is meant to signal to gnome-session when it has done loading, but it doesn't appear to do that. Incidentally, I think this same issue is causing a race between the panel and the applet, which sometimes causes the applet to not display.
