I have the same problem with a fresh install of Ubuntu Hardy AMD64.

I can see I have the mime type set as "application/octet-stream".
~/.local/share/mime/globs contains a reference just about lst files.
/usr/share/mime/globs does not contain any reference to lzma ("string
not found")
I think this IS a configuration bug (as almost 50% of bugs here on
launchpad); it should work out of the box.
