I've tried to reproduce your bug but pidgin worked correctly for me. I logged in here: http://webmessenger.msn.com/ ; changed my friendly name; opened pidgin and webmessenger disconnected automatically; my Friendly Name was up-to-date in pidgin. I'm using Ubuntu: 8.10 and Pidgin: 1:2.5.2-0ubuntu1 Do you still experience this issue?
