Public bug reported:
i got this installed in a fresh hard disk... everything works good
except a few like the bass doesn't work in the speakers, u cant play mp3
or DVD directly unless u download a decoder/software for it etc. It
reads USB in full speed, reads camera memory cards, thumbdrives etc.
Major issue would be the Intex ethernet card (the model as written on
the chip is rtc8139d) which is actually a cheap Silan SC92031. This card
only has drivers for Linux Kernel versions till 2.4. Ubutnu runs on 2.6
kernel so, cant get the card installed. I checked out multiple forums
and none has posted drivers yet and the ones available aren't that
reliable. So, that Intex card cant work with any latest update of any
Linux 2.6 kernel version.
Bottomline is, unless someone from the Net or from Slash writes a device
driver for the card for 2.6 Kernel, either dont go for the card
(Rs.150/-) or wait till someone comes up with, like I do...:-(
