Just pasting an additional response from Ardent: "Hi Leann.
I've tried the Jaunty 64bit installer and it works ok till the warning about possible partitioning issues comes up, also the live system works, hence I guess, the problem is solved in Jaunty. I haven't tried to install it, since I have no time to back-up my harddisk and I took the warning about data loss seriously. There was another issue I forgot - when installing the 32bit system, one of my harddisks is shown as not partitioned. In win xp installer, this is not the case, and once the live cd with kubuntu 8.10 is running, or kubuntu 8.10 is running from the hdd, all the partitions are shown. I'm really not sure if this was happening with my previous motherboard too, but I really dont think so. It happens also if I unplug the disk which shows partitions and leave only the "unpartitioned" one connected. I haven't tried this in Jaunty because of the warning, but I might as soon, as the partitioning issues are solved. Hope this helps." -- install crashes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/318379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
