For grins, I went out and bought a new camera ( 046d:0990 Logitech, Inc.
QuickCam Pro 9000 ). This camera does not work properly either although
showing support on the wiki site with 8.04.

Essentially the same errors as previously reported.

With Cheese, I can get the camera to work once with very low resolution,
but subsequent attempts fail until reboot or disconnect of camera.

With Camorama, nothing works.

With Ekiga, the camera appears to work like a champ.

It sure would be nice to get this resolved as it seems to be a big
issues with a lot of people from doing my searches within Google. -
