For changing from the default to an alternative driver you do not need to extract the PPD file manually.
Simply do System-> Administration-> Printer Right-click the icon of your print queue, in the window popping up click the "Change" button in the "Make and Model:" line. Then choose HP as the manufacturer and "LaserJet 1022" (without "N" or "NW") as the model. On the right hand side of the model selection screen choose the "foo2zjs" driver. Jaunty comes with a new version of HPLIP, which ships PPDs for the LaserJet 1022 series for HPIJS with a proprietary HP plug-in. Once you download the plug-in with "sudo hp-plugin" on Jaunty, you get full support of your printer with a manufacturer-supplied driver. I will look into letting the "sudo hp-plugin" be run by system-config-printer if needed. -- good printer found, but wrong printer driver proposed for HP LaserJet 1022N https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/250872 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
