Can you comment which specific version of the Intrepid kernel you are
running? This can be found with "cat /proc/version_signature" . The
reason I ask is that there is a newer kernel (2.6.27-11.24) in the
intrepid-proposed repository that contains a few cifs related patches -
https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/ . For information on
how to enable intrepid-proposed please refer to
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed . It would be great if
you could test.
I'd also point out a cifs related regression that was introduced with
this newer kernel in intrepid-proposed, bug 318565. However, it is
actively being addressed and I believe a fix has already been applied.
