By my gross overestimate, dash fails while compiling less than 5% of available packages, and while installing less than 1%. The failure rate for third party software, such as cedega and commercial installers, is around 5%. This is not a majority by quite a bit. While I somewhat sympathize with the "make it work, even if it's wrong" sentiment, I would be willing to bet that less than half of the people who have posted here have bothered to report the real bugs to their package maintainers and/or upstream.
