That's really interesting. I hadn't realized the fonts were changing
like that. You're right that when I switch to Telugu in SCIM inside of
OOo the first time I push k it goes to DejaVu Sans, then if I change it
back to Lohit Telugu it works and the font is rendered (mostly)
correctly.

Thanks for the update, I'm glad that it seems like it's being
pinpointed. I might try the te_IN locale and see what I think. I'm
working on learning the language and having it on the computer is a huge
help.

As for the terminal, should I make a new bug with this problem or will
someone else handle that?
