Actually, I believe that the issue has been fixed. I don't know why the DRI seems to go in and out from release to release, but I think it's working now. I've actually been using the FGLRX driver because although the Radeon driver does work, it has much lower performance than the FGLRX driver at the moment, at least on my card. I am looking forward to the RadeonHD driver in development. I will try the Radeon driver specifically later and let you know my results.
