I was experiencing the same problem using firefox 3.0.5 on Ubuntu 8.10. The back button is disabled, even though I have been following links. The search bar does not function, though I can enter text into it. The address bar does not update. The "loading" animation on most tabs does not stop. I'm attaching a screenshot of firefox in this state.
This issue started, for me, when firefox crashed recently. I could not restart firefox as it claimed an instance was already running. I relied on the old trick of manually removing the 'lock' and '.parentlock' files from my profile. This allowed me to start firefox again, but I discovered this issue. Using `firefox -ProfileManager` to create a new profile corrected the issue for me. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot demonstrating this bug" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/21551153/Screenshot-Bug09196.png -- Search bar broken and address bar does not update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309196 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
