** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg I have Ubuntu 8.04.1 (fully updated) running on an Asus A8SC laptop (using Nvidia restricted drivers). When I use the laptop's shortcut to change volume (Fn and F11/F12), both x-screens lock up and appear to redraw all of the theme shading. This only occurs when I'm working on the second x-server screen (dual monitor) when I make the key press, but affects both x-servers. I am not entirely sure which package this is disrupting so have opted for xorg. I will gladly attach any diagnostics but I can't find anything related in dmesg or Xorg.0.log. I have a suspicion that this could be Compiz related as it's only the nicely-textured parts of the x-screen that get redrawn, not the whole screen. Please let me know how I can help further. + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Memory Controller Hub [8086:2a00] (rev 03) + Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
