** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel X just crashed for the first time in a long time. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary; I was browsing the web with epiphany. It seemed that the crash was triggered by switching between tabs with Ctrl+PgDn while viewing pages on www.cricinfo.com. No OpenGL (from compiz or anything else) or flash animations/videos were involved that I know of. The screen was corrupted (mostly black, some vertical dotted lines, and a static mouse cursor), and gdm was unable to fully restart X, leaving me with a corrupted screen (when gdm gave up the there was no change to the corruption or the position of the mouse cursor, but the mouse cursor had changed from a pointer to a frozen "busy" wheel). I had to hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete to reboot to get a usable display back. I'll attach the full Xorg.log, but for convenience here's the backtrace from that log: Backtrace: 0: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(xf86SigHandler+0x79) [0x80c3009] 1: [0xb8007400] 2: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so(I830WaitLpRing+0x1dc) [0xb7a611bc] 3: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so(I830Sync+0x1c3) [0xb7a615f3] 4: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so [0xb7a6c8e0] 5: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so [0xb7a6ca40] 6: /usr/X11R6/bin/X [0x80d6b0a] 7: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions//libglx.so [0xb7b50be9] 8: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(AbortDDX+0x79) [0x80a8b09] 9: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(AbortServer+0x28) [0x813c498] 10: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(FatalError+0x63) [0x813caa3] 11: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so(I830WaitLpRing+0x201) [0xb7a611e1] 12: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so(I830Sync+0x1c3) [0xb7a615f3] 13: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so [0xb7a8987a] 14: /usr/lib/xorg/modules//libexa.so(exaWaitSync+0x65) [0xb791f045] 15: /usr/lib/xorg/modules//libexa.so(ExaDoPrepareAccess+0x7e) [0xb792023e] 16: /usr/lib/xorg/modules//libexa.so(ExaCheckPutImage+0x103) [0xb7927e03] 17: /usr/lib/xorg/modules//libexa.so [0xb7921585] 18: /usr/X11R6/bin/X [0x817948d] 19: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(ProcPutImage+0x15e) [0x808951e] 20: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(Dispatch+0x34f) [0x808c89f] 21: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(main+0x47d) [0x8071d1d] 22: /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xe5) [0xb7c07685] 23: /usr/X11R6/bin/X [0x8071101] Saw signal 11.
