Hi, Thank you and the rest of the guys who develop and maintain this wonderful
flavour of Linux. I never thought the response will be this quick for an open
source OS organization. Anyway, I tried to clean the lpr install but to no
avail. Terminal won't clean, remove, reinstall package for its missing archive
files. Same as with Synaptic and Update Manager. I keep getting the message/
bug so I cannot remove or do anything.
I'll try a fresh install of 8.04 or 8.10 for the mean time to test
compatibility with my laptop. Thanks again.

Subject: [Bug 319484] Re: unresolved package mfc9700lpr in ubuntu 7.04

The package brother-lpr-drivers-laser1 appears to replace the older
package, but didn't this happen already several releases ago? Anyway,
does it help if you install this package (assuming you have this Brother
printer in the first place)?
