Regarding the duplicate status:
I don't know if it's the same bug but the previous report is about
Ubuntu 7.04 and is marked as fixed. I'm running 8.04 and as far as I can
the problem remains - although it is possible to get the printer to work
temporarily, but only right after installing the firmware.
