I have a very similar problem with Kubuntu 6.06 running on a Toshiba Satellite L25-S119 laptop. Changing the time settings makes it impossible to call up any application that requires administrative privileges as a "KDE su" failure is reported.
Changing the time settings also disables pcmciautils, which I have set to start on bootup. This causes a failure to connect using my PCMCIA modem: it draws a "modem busy" report. These conditions seem to be a bit erratic, and cannot be reliably fixed by rebooting, but can be fixed by shutting down the computer and booting from scratch. -- Changing the time locks me out of sudo https://launchpad.net/bugs/63383 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
