Thanks Bobby. I really don't understand why your pad isn't working, can you please check that it is enabled from System->Preferences->Mouse --> Touchpad tab. My alpha-3 install of Jaunty doesn't have an xorg.conf, so let's try removing yours and let auto detection take full effect. Please run sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak Then restart X. Does the touchpad work now?
