By the way I see that there is an update to the xserver-xorg-input-synaptics which Timo filed the bug under (beat me to it!), the latest in Jaunty is now 0.99.3-1ubuntu2 Please also update your system, check that you have this upgrade included, and restart X to see if the problem disappears.
