Hey Team i had the same problem, no speaker sound, headphones worked. I have HP 2230s KS057UT running ubuntu 8.10 everything works out of box except sound. I followed RAJESHZ directions step by step and now sound is working. YOU GUYS R GREAT and I LOVE UBUNTU Linux :}
