I can reproduce this same exact bug on a Dell Inspiron b130. Even Alpha 3 has this issue. Ubuntu 8.10 is where the graphical issues started. I've seen both of your videos and I can confirm both of them. And I've tried 8.04 earlier this year. I could recall no issues.
