Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Apparently with no reason (I was using firefox) the screen freezes filled with a mostly black pixelized pattern. After some "flashing" trying to automatically restart the server, it ends up to the message telling "ubuntu is running in low graphics". Switching to a shell prompt to restart gdm or with startx isn't working. Following the option to start in low graphics right after the message telling "ubuntu is running in low graphics" takes me to the gdm login screen. Please sorry if I've made some mistakes and let me know how to help more. 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller (rev 03) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller (rev 03) [~] lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 [~] apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-intel xserver-xorg-video-intel: Installato: 2:2.4.1-1ubuntu10.3 Candidato: 2:2.4.1-1ubuntu10.3 Tabella versione: *** 2:2.4.1-1ubuntu10.3 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid-updates/main Packages 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid-proposed/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2:2.4.1-1ubuntu10 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10 Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.4.1-1ubuntu10.3 ProcEnviron: SHELL=/bin/bash PATH=/home/username/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=it_IT.UTF-8 ProcVersion: Linux version 2.6.27-11-generic (bui...@rothera) (gcc version 4.3.2 (Ubuntu 4.3.2-1ubuntu11) ) #1 SMP Thu Jan 22 17:22:40 UTC 2009 SourcePackage: xserver-xorg-video-intel Uname: Linux 2.6.27-11-generic i686 xkbcomp: ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug -- Error in I830WaitLpRing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/321491 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
