Public bug reported:
I can reproduce this using: Ubuntu 6.10, KUbuntu 6.06 and KUbuntu 6.10.
I can reproduce in while booted to a live CD (of any of the above
versions) or after installation. When booting after logining in (or
booting to live CD) I get a message that I must reset the password, root
enforced. I reset the password and it takes but then after using my
password for anything (i.e. sudo, login, control panel, etc) I have to
reset it again. Nothing special needs to be done, it is guaranteed to
happen.
I'm not sure if its related but on every startup regardless of version I get
the error:
[34.127361] PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 0001:10:18.0
[34.127380] PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 0001:10:19.0
>From my research it appears these are unrelated but have something to do
with the wireless card or USB.
These occur on my iBook 14-inch 1.42GHz 512MB 60GB COMBO AirPort
Bluetooth. These do not occur on my iBook 12-inch 768MB 80GB COMBO
AirPort Bluetooth.
