The default Ubuntu preseeding uses preseed/ubuntu.seed so that it's out
of the way of things that people do by hand, not because that's the only
way to do it. There's nothing wrong with using preseed.cfg, and indeed I
would continue to recommend that people use that name rather than
preseed/ubuntu.seed; that way it's easier for me to see at a glance when
people are using custom preseeding.
