** Description changed:
When installing (x)ubuntu and setting keyboard layout to Japanese
(jp106), the key labled ] and } (left of enter key) gives output \ and
|. ] and } are not accessible by any other key. In promt without X the
key works as expected.
This can be corrected by changing the XkbModel setting in xorg.conf from
pc105 to pc106.

+ For those encountering this in GNOME, setting the
/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd values to the following will restore
activity for this key:
