Reinstalled, used ext3 for root. Before rebooting after the installer, chrooted to /target, apt'd stuff to get kernel tools, source, etc.
apt'd the xeon prebuilt package which I hadn't noticed before, might as well try it. Also built 2.6.15.7 from ubuntu source with gcc 4.0.3. Finished the last installer question. Xeon prebuilt kernel package - same result. Segfaults everywhere. Interestingly, 2.6.15.7 ubuntu source with gcc 403 let me apt-get update, but segfaulted on gpgv. sshd also segfaults. 2.6.15.7 ubuntu source with gcc 3.3 segfaults everywhere. -- 6.06 64bit kernel totally broken after install, gcc3.3 fixes https://launchpad.net/bugs/51157 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
