Hello guys, Sorry for taking so long to come back to this bug.
I have actually stopped using Kubuntu altogether. This font issue was bothering me, and then along came KDE4, which was an even bigger disappointment for many different reasons. I waited patiently for it to mature, but even the 4.1 release was barely usable. I just need my computer to work; I no longer have an interest in digging into all the anomalies, and finding and reporting bugs. I have done enough of that. Mid-December, I gave up on Kubuntu altogether. End of story.
