Public bug reported:

Hi,

Today, I got an email asking to fix Urdu in Ubuntu:

Dear Carlos,

Can you please have the following modifications added to the
international Ubuntu distro downloads so that URDU Language Support
shows up correctly, we will have to create a script to cover the
following:

1. Open terminal in Ubuntu
2. Typ3 the following command in Terminal
sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig

A Configuration Screen will appear, Select the Option Native in the
first screen and press OK

On the Second Screen, select the Option Automatic and press OK
On the third Screen it will Ask "Enable bitmapped fonts by default? ", Select
Yes
Now restart your computer and it will start displaying Urdu font correctly.

The same problem exists when Ubuntu 6.06 LTS is installed.

** Affects: fontconfig (Ubuntu)
