I'm having the same exact issue and solved it in the same way by using 11n_disable=1.
Just to add a bit more info, this is not a problem with DHCP.. there is just a large delay between the time the network is connected and before the pc can start receiving packets on that connection. obtaining a DHCP lease fails because it just happens during that initial phase.
