Confirmed. While installing the updates that came today (28. jan. 2009) for Ubuntu 8.10 - amongst them new kernel modules - I got a requester about what to do with menu.lst (keep my version or install new). My menu.lst is modified to keep all kernel version, and I had also added the "splash" argument to the most recent entry in order to have Interpid boot with a splash screen (which it seems configured not to do by default).
I cancelled the request, and the error report came up. Then, later in the install process the requester came up again. This time I let it replace my custom one, and it seems to have removed the splash screen again. Then a package (I didn't catch which) failed due to dependencies, and the update process ended. -- package linux-image-2.6.27-9-generic 2.6.27-9.19 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/303319 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
