There's the same problem in ubuntu 8.10 (gnome). the DVD-R DL is recognized by the system as a blank disk, but when I am trying to burn data onto DVD-R DL, brasero does not see it and has no options except recording an image. and when I am trying to burn the data onto the disc using the standard "Create CD/DVD" it requires a DVD+R DL.
