Hi Chris,

Sorry. I forgot to mention to you that for whatever reason, the sound is
NOW WORKING on my system. I have
no idea exactly what took place to resolve the matter.

I did remove the jumper plug from pins 1&2 on two sets of jumpers for the
on-board sound, but this didn`t initially work.
Hmmm, maybe it did eventually. Don`t know.

In any event, thank you for your own suggestions in trying to get this
to work.

Regards,
Al

CT4830 Sound Card- I have NO sound on this system at present.

Hi Chris,

I got the following error message when I tried to run the Ubuntu updates
(5 of them) . It wouldn`t work.

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct
the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

I ran the following command and got the dpkg: SECOND LINE notation.
Requires superuser privilege.

al...@allan-desktop:~$ dpkg --configure-a
dpkg: requested operation requires superuser privilege
al...@allan-desktop:~$

Again, all I`m doing is trying to provide for, or allow updates

I`m also interested in knowing if there is a keyboard schematic where I can
see how to use the special
characters on a keyboard with this operating system.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks
Al
