Public bug reported:

Using Ubuntu 8.10 amd64. Upgraded the kernel from 2.6.27-9 to
2.6.27-11. The 2.6.27-11 kernel will not boot. Stops just before
loading X. Could be a problem with fglrx because the last 3 lines in
the kernel.log are:

Jan 29 03:41:42 jjg-355laptop kernel: [ 41.216337] fglrx: disagrees about
version of symbol struct_module
Jan 29 03:41:44 jjg-355laptop kernel: [ 42.992573] r8169: eth0: link down
Jan 29 03:41:44 jjg-355laptop kernel: [ 42.993632] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0:
link is not ready

I am _NOT_ using the proprietary ATI drivers.

The system is a Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7825, with an AMD Turion-X2, 3
GB RAM, ATI Radeon display card, and Atheros wireless using the madwifi
drivers.

I have attached the requested files, but I am currently booting off the
2.6.27-9 kernel, so I am not sure if they will give you the information
you want.
