The customer is running on a hardy base with customizations to

HAL of Ubuntu Hardy recognizes it as
"/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_model_DVD_RAM_UJ_850S"
HAL of Fedor Core 8 recognizes it as
"/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_model_CD_RW_CRX880A"
Step:
1. insert VCD into ODD
Actual Result:
System can't automount VCD
dmesg shows:
Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 0
Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 1
end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0
Expected Result:
System can automount VCD
