IMHO This is not 2.6.19-7 update specific error. This happens if partitions were changed and /boot/grub/menu.lst edited. For example I had hda1 - Xp, hda5 - extended (hda6-/, hda7-home, hda8-swap). Now I only have hda1-/ ext3 and hda2- swap and every time I update the kernel it returns the old parition configuration in the menu.lst file - and I must edit it after every kenel update. If this is your case look at: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GrubHowto
look at kopt and groot options in the menu.lst -- Wrong boot hdx,x in menu.lst https://launchpad.net/bugs/74486 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
